#PCSX2 ANDROID ANDROID#
It is not going to be perfect, far from it. It seems Android and macOS are not currently planned for the PCSX2 emulator core.

At the time of writing, it is in very early stages and missing many useful features, however is usable for playing some games. You can try underclocking the CPU by setting the cycle rate to a negative number, and the cycle skip to a positive number in System settings, but this will cause games to lag internally at best, or crash at worst.Įxpectations.This is a free app, worked on as a hobby in the developer's free time. If you want to use the app on a slower device, you can try it, but games will run slow, especially heavier titles. This is because they are missing a critical feature (dual-source blending). Devices with Mali or PowerVR GPUs will run the app, but performance will be much lower than Adreno GPUs, and the Vulkan renderer will not be available. Snapdragon 700 series SoCs, you should not enable multi-threaded VU, and performance will suffer as a result). This means 4 large cores (Cortex-A75 level). We recommend at least a Snapdragon 845-equivalent device. You need a high end device to achieve good performance. What are the requirements? The PS2(TM) is an extremely complex piece of hardware, with many very powerful components, even for today.
#PCSX2 ANDROID PORTABLE#
You can play games which you have dumped from disc on your portable device. Play! runs slower in the same games I tried and in some cases has less graphical artifacts than damonps2 and in others has more. What is it?AetherSX2 is an emulator of the Sony PlayStation 2(TM) / PS2(TM) console for the Android platform.
#PCSX2 ANDROID PRO#
While I still regret buying the pro version 2 years ago before doing my research and quickly redeeming my purchase while I still can, the latest version from Google is the only one which works on Android 10 so I can test games on my new Redmi note 9 pro for the lols, I was surprised to see Silent Hill 2 run at 60 fps but Yu Gi Oh Duelist of the Roses has 30 even with all hacks enabled. Can't another team or a single talented person like the guy behind MMJ port it legally btw? I think it's open source, feels weird how a bunch of con artists made a decent port before anyone else. If only Pcsx2 had an official port, we already seen how fast it can run in phones with a stolen trash port so imagine all the fixes and optimizations the original devs would make while allowing us to play fully offline unlike that damon cancer. Even when it does though, I wouldn't expect games like God of War or Shadow of the Colossus to run particularly well for a very long time.
#PCSX2 ANDROID FULL#
A decent port of PCSX2 that is done right and reasonably well optimized would probably be enough to play a decent chunk of PS2 games at full speed with high end phone. PS2 emulation on a phone is definitely possible, and I think it will happen eventually. Also, Dolphin is of the gold standard when it comes to well maintained, open source emulation projects, while PCSX2 is still burdened with a lot more technical debt. Well the wii and gamecube used a powerpc CPU, which is very well documented, and graphics from ATI, which are not all the dissimilar from modern graphics. People look at dolphin and wonder how a phone can emulate wii games, but not the much older and more primitive PS2 games. The PS2 is a very difficult console to emulate, because the "emotion" engine is super weird and proprietary and very much unlike modern PC or phone hardware. Even a good PCSX2 port would have a lot of challenges. Damonps2 exists, but it is a hack job of stole code from PCSX2 and it plays like it. PS2 emulation on a phone is going to be hard.
